What is Kombucha?
Kombucha is a fermented tea made with strains of bacteria, yeast and sugar. This fermentation derives from the birth of a SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast). Kombucha originated from Northeast China around third century BCE (before common era). According to medical doctor Brent Bauer, in Mayo Clinic’s Healthy Lifestyle, Consumer Health, “proponents claim Kombucha tea helps prevent and manage serious health conditions, from blood pressure to cancer.”
In this workshop, we discuss the TOP 8 benefits of Kombucha. Additionally, we review what you will need to make a healthy batch and how to make your very own Kombucha. You will have an opportunity to taste Auntie Peaches flavored Kombucha and create your own “Kombucha Picasso” (work of art) to take home.

Traditional Herbal Remedies
What is a Herbal Syrup?
Herbal syrup is a concentrated decoction, typically made with honey, agave or sugar. The use of these sweeteners helps thicken the decoction, transforming it into syrup. These syrups can be infused with fruit to be added to cake, pancakes, or other food items. However, one of the most common uses of syrup is for medicinal purpose. To enhance the syrups flavor, consider adding an oil sugar or oleo saccharum. Oleo means oil or fat. While Saccharum means sugar… it’s “Oily sugar”. Oleo Saccharum is used for syrups and drinks.
In this workshop, we discuss the most effective and traditional syrup making processes. Additionally, we review what you will need to make traditional syrup, fruit infused syrup and oil sugar. You will have an opportunity to taste Auntie Peaches favorite recipes and create your own to take home.
